Description
Pieps Mini IPS Avalanche Transceiver
The PIEPS MINI IPS is a compact avalanche transceiver that brings advanced PIEPS technology into a highly portable format. With a 50-meter search strip width and Search Assist Plus, the visual search aid with pictographic instructions, it intuitively guides users through the search process. The innovative Interference Protection System (IPS) minimizes disturbances in transmit mode and ensures stable signal transmission. Thanks to its robust design, long battery life, and Bluetooth connectivity, the MINI IPS is a reliable companion in alpine terrain – for both beginners seeking maximum safety and experienced backcountry users who value a compact device with advanced technology. With PIEPS’ industry-leading signal processing quality, it delivers especially clear, consistent, and reliable direction indication in critical situations.
PACKED WITH FEATURES
The PIEPS MINI IPS combines a wide range of functions that make it a particularly reliable avalanche transceiver. The innovative Interference Protection System ensures stable signal transmission in send mode – even in environments with interference – while the dynamic search strip width in 50, 35, and 20-meter steps enables precise interference management during the search. With its compact design and low weight, it fits easily into any designated pocket without being bulky. Search Assist Plus provides pictographic guidance for maintaining the right search speed, while features such as the protected switch mechanism, perfect marking performance, and Auto Search-to-Send deliver additional safety. The MINI IPS is further enhanced by the adjustable Group Check distance (1 m or 3 m), the Switch-off Reminder, and versatile training functions via the PIEPS App. Using Bluetooth, firmware updates can be installed, device settings managed, and a comprehensive app-supported device check performed – keeping the MINI IPS always up to date.
“SMALL SIZE. MAXIMUM SAFETY.”
The PIEPS MINI IPS brings high-end avalanche transceiver technology into an ultra-compact format.
With a 50 m search strip width and Search Assist Plus, the visual guidance with pictographic instructions, it intuitively leads users along a particularly stable signal path towards their target.
The innovative Interference Protection System (IPS) ensures maximum signal stability and reliably protects against electronic interference in transmit mode.
Thanks to its intuitive operation, the MINI IPS is the ideal choice for beginners seeking maximum safety, as well as for experienced backcountry users who prefer a compact device with advanced technology.
Through the PIEPS App, firmware updates can be installed quickly and device settings adjusted individually – simple and convenient.
Search Assist Plus – Visual guidance to choose the right search speed
A successful avalanche search depends not only on range and signal stability, but also on the right search pace.
-
During the coarse search, it is important to move quickly to pick up the signal as early as possible.
-
In the fine search, precision matters: slow down and keep the device close to the snow surface.
-
Moving too fast or too hesitantly risks losing valuable time – or misinterpreting, even overlooking, signals.
This is where Search Assist Plus comes in:
A small figure icon at the top of the display indicates how fast you should be moving. This pictographic guidance gives users clear orientation – whether to speed up, slow down in a controlled way, or lower the device toward the snow.
The result: Searching becomes more intuitive, fluid, and controlled – especially for less experienced users. But professionals also benefit, as the visual support helps maintain the right pace in stressful situations and ensures no signal is missed.
AUTO SEARCH-TO-SEND (Auto-Revert)
In the event of a secondary avalanche, the transceiver automatically switches from Search back to Send after a certain period of inactivity (when the motion sensor detects no movement).
GROUP CHECK
With the Group Check, all transceivers can be quickly, conveniently, and reliably tested before the tour. The MINI IPS indicates whether each device is transmitting correctly, giving confidence that the entire group is well prepared. Through the PIEPS App, the group check distance can also be set to 3 m – ideal for use with snowmobiles.
GHOST SIGNAL ELIMINATION
The advanced signal verification by PIEPS ensures that only signals from avalanche transceivers are displayed – filtering out any “ghost signals” from other sources.
APP SUPPORT
The PIEPS App allows firmware updates and individual device settings to be managed with ease. It also enables an app-supported device check that thoroughly tests all functions, as well as the creation of training scenarios – for greater safety and practical relevance.
INTERFERENCE PROTECTION SYSTEM (IPS)
“THE BETTER YOU SEND, THE EASIER YOU ARE TO FIND”
This unique technology compensates for the influence of electronic and metallic interference to the transmitting device by analyzing and adapting to the interfering source. Thus, the PIEPS PRO IPS delivers the maximum transmit power. Therefore, in case of emergency, users of the PIEPS PRO IPS are better protected against interferences from personal items which could minimize the transmitting power.
Electronic products can cause a variety of interference.
With the IPS system, we are able to compensate for a large part,
but due to their diversity, we cannot exclude all interferences.
Thus, we still recommend a minimum distance of
20 cm in transmit mode and 50 cm in search mode to possible sources of interference.
